Your new born baby should be under the care of a midwife or if you've been signed off from the midwife your health visitor, for. It's best you contact them if your babies having problems with their eyes. Or call your doctor and make an appointment, there's no medical advice anyone can give you on here.

Hope they're OK, best of luck

My little one had blocked tear ducts. His eyes were always getting stuck together and as fast as I gently wiped them with cotton wool balls and warm water, people would comment 'Ohhh bless him, his eyes need cleaning'. As if I'd never done it. In the end the Health Visitor advised NOT to keep cleaning them with water or breastmilk. If you gently massage in the corner underneith the eyes near the nose they do become unblocked. After a month my little one had improved and never needed to do it again. Best wishes. Very gentle circular motion in the corner of the eyes near the nose will work x

My little boy had blocked tear ducts too and as above I was constantly cleaning it with breast milk and cooled boiled water and getting comments about his eyes needing cleaning. There are massage techniques videos on youtube which can help. My little boys cleared by 7/8 weeks. Doctors will not do anything until it gets to a year as most cases unblock by then. If you think it is something other than a blocked duct I would seek medical advice x

Same as Music1 and Lauj. I didn’t find cleaning or breast milk really helped, but the massaging did. It took a while, but one day it just completely cleared. Good luck! X

My first baby had blocked tear ducts and paediatrician told us to massage them to clear them. Which we did as well as cleaning with cooled boiled water and cleared within few days.
