Hi, I'm about 10weeks and since 5 weeks my smell sense has been heightened.. I could smell someone smoking from a mile ago and that triggered my morning sickness..

In this time, I think maybe do a covid test to be safe because that's also one of the symptoms.

I did an antibody test for covid yesterday to determine if I ever had it.

Good luck.. let me know how it goes.

Ok that's good. I also wasn't around anyone who was positive etc.. but the antibody testing is just a blood test so that's why I went and did it.

Good luck and I hope it all works out for you. Let me know how it goes. Or just call your midwife for ease of mind. I'm sure they will be able to give you proper medical advice and put you at ease.

As you have a symptom you should ideally get a Covid test. Whilst you haven’t been out as such presumably you have seen others who have been out? Many people with Covid can be positive without showing symptoms so you may not know. Hope rest of your pregnancy goes well x

Normally your sense of smell is heightened in early pregnancy, so you don't eat or drink anything off. I'd be inclined to recommend getting a covid test as it's one of the symptoms of it.

After reading this article this morning: apple.news/A8wzClXAYTzmnuVy... (Washington Post)

I’d suggest a COVID test too.

Loss of smell is a covid symptom. Isolate for 14 days and book a test.

Just to re-iterate, I had an incredibly sensitive sense of smell in early pregnancy - could smell bananas in the kitchen as soon as I walked in the front door of the house, could tell from a couple of metres away if my husband had drunk a coffee etc., so losing your sense of smell is definitely not a usual symptom of pregnancy!

My sense of smell went off the charts and stayed like that throughout my pregnancy. I could smell things a mile off.

As others have said I would get a covid test. Fingers crossed.
