Hi I'm thinking of getting a fetal Doppler is it worthwhile? I read it gives false reassurance why is that?

Is it safe to use fetal Doppler's at home?
Because you could be picking up the placentas blood supply or your own heartbeat and not babies, or if you’re worried baby has got reduced movements you could use the Doppler, see a heartbeat and think everything’s fine and not go to hospital when in reality it might not be okay and you should’ve gone to hospital for further observations, Dopplers are great, but there’s a reason midwives need to study for 3 years to use one xx
Oh ok thanks on that note I will pass on it. Xx
No!!! It can trick you into thinking things are fine when they aren’t... your placenta sounds similar to baby heartbeat and I’d you’re not a midwife you wouldn’t know the difference xx
No I'm definitely not gonna get one. Will just visit the day unit if I have any concerns so midwifes can hear the heart beat as they are trained.
