Hi all
My midwife suspects my baby is breech (I am 37 weeks) so I am booked in for a presentation scan. Does anyone know what it involves and how long it is for? I can’t find any information on it on the NHS website.
Thanks for any advice!

Hi. I would imagine it is an ultra sound just like you have had before. It’s just to show where and how the baby is laying. Just to be sure in case you need to be booked for a c section x
It's a normal ultrasound scan. Takes a few minutes to find babies position on scan. How long you have to wait.to.have the scan is a different matter.
Hi dear
It is normal scan to see baby is still in breech position, if yes they will refer to consultant, doctor will give 2 options to select, 1.ecv which is they do turn baby but chances are 50%
2. Elective c section
My baby was also in breech position, I opted for option 2 they said if I choose option 1 if baby is in distress they do emergency c section.
Hope it helps
Anything you want message me
Hey just a normal scan and look for head position my son kept going in and out of breech all the time then he settled in breech at 36 weeks so went to have him turned and when they check you before moving them he was head down he likes to keep me on my toes I did a lot of research and I was told pretty much had to have him turned of csect but I wanted natural after havin daughter emergency csect and I had him home alone just fine xx
