Hi Melanie
Sorry to hear your feeling anxious, like you I'm also on my 2nd pregnancy (12years apart) & I felt I worry more with this pregnancy - maybe more so because I'm older but its important to remember that all pregnancies are different & we may notice the pains more than before maybe as we didnt know what to expect. If all was ok at the epu I would probably say it's just the changes to our bodies but of course if it worsens or you're still worried call your midwife. I hope this helps xx
Thank you for your reply the pain isn’t all bad now it’s manageable with paracetamol and hot water bottle I was just worrying about the nausea cause it was really bad then just died down and went I have no other bad symptoms which I’m taking as a good sign but didn’t no if I should worry cause it suddenly stopped xxx
Nausea is one of those things, mine disappeared at week 8 for 2 days & I was in tears thinking something was wrong, it came back with a vengeance. By week 16 it went again but I didnt worry as I was in the 2nd trimester but after 2 weeks it hit me suddenly again. Pregnancy is such a worrying time isn't it? I know so many people who didnt have any symptoms & I look at them thinking how do you not worry 🙈 I think it's sort of down to trusting our instincts xx
Ok that’s slightly reassuring I’m such a worrier anyway and being cooped up at home isn’t helping it gives you more time to ponder on things I’m sure I am worried over nothing I have a appointment soon so will just try to chill a bit until then xxx
I completely understand, I think lockdown has really effected lots of people. I hope you manage to relax & enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, try not to be so hard on yourself if you do have your days of worrying, it really is a natural thing. Sending virtual hugs xx
I suffered alot more with aches and pains when I was pregnant with my second baby. At the time I mentioned it to my midwife and she said that because your body has already done it, it's like it knows what to do and it's quite common to suffer round ligament pain earlier on and it to be more intense.
I had my 1st experience of Braxton hicks 2 days ago which I had never experienced in my 1st pregnancy... to say it took my breath away is an understatement x
Thank you so much for your advice I am so naive I assumed that second pregnancy would be easier just to put my mind at ease a bit more I did ring the midwife who said the pain is normal second time round cause your body has already done it.. as long as it’s manageable with painkillers and I’m not bleeding which I’m not then try not to worry I spoke to her about the nausea to which she said it can come and go die to a sudden surge of hormones and the just enjoy it and embrace the not having any nausea she said it’s normal to have it and also normal not to have it xxx
This thread has made me feel so much better! This is also my second pregnancy my daughter is nearly 7 so a long time since I’ve done this 🙈 I’m 10 weeks pregnant and I get so worried about every pain if I have a day where I feel “normal” I think something has happened.. so much so I’m going for a private scan tomorrow just for some reassurance as my 12 week scan isn’t till the 9th July
