My 2 year old son had a great day in grannys garden the other day running around with no nappy on and did two poos and 3 pees in the potty and the last two he actually asked to go first! At home the next day I decided we would just leave the nappy off which was ok for about 5 mins then he started screaming for it back on. Does this mean he isn't ready or should I try to encourage him to keep it off?
Does it mean hes not ready to potty t... - Pregnancy and Par...
Does it mean hes not ready to potty train?
Difficult one - but if you want to potty train him - best maybe to avoid the nappies altogether as confusing for them, get some pants and try these and every time he needs a wee/poo pop him on potty, there will be accidents, it may just have been a bit of luck the other day in the garden. We did a 3 day potty training with my LG and by the end of the first day she was going to the potty on her own, but we had her in pants all day and she could pull them up on her own, lots of accidents in the morning but she got the hang of it, and was dry through the night and naps from a week later, never had an issue since! But she was showing signs before this by telling us she needed a wee/poo etc etc. So if your LO has been showing signs go for it.x
Having had 4 children 3 boys and 1 girl the youngest is 8 months.
I would say they are all different and having tried everything from taking mums advice to reading the books etc.. I’d just say try it and if after a day or so of constant accidents or getting upset just wait a little longer, I’ll be honest as long as they are fully toilet trained by the time they start school don’t worry. The older they are the better they understand and know their bodies.
My little girl has just turned 4 she has been dry during the day for about 7/8 months she had been in pull up pants for a while before that to quite successfully, sell it to them as grown up pants and they are just on for the accidents and use the potty or loo as much as possible.
We are almost out of the pull ups at night limit drinks before bed and encourage them to do a wee before bed when they wash and do their teeth and as soon as they get up in the morning and make a big fuss when the pull up is dry.
It will all just happen when he’s ready.
Good luck xx
