What washing detergent do you all use for your eczema baby?
We’re trying out different detergents for my 16 week old who as eczema to see if it helps. I’ve always used Ariel due to me being allergic to most mainstream detergents I’ve tried other than that. I’m really sensitive to strong smells/perfumes etc and get skin allergic reactions. Obviously I’ll keep using Ariel for my clothes but I still need to be ok/not allergic with what we use for bub’s clothes when I’m holding him and handling his clothes.
We’ve tried Fairy non-bio and it’s sooooo perfumey I feel sick, I’ve also tried Bambino Mio which has no smell but has left his clothes smelling like rotten fish after washing them 🤷♀️
Any suggestions of what we could try?
Many thanks

We use persil non bio and this seems to keep our babies nappies clean and the clothes don't have too much of a smell. I'm not sure if it's any good for eczema though.
My little boy had really bad spots/ rash on face and chest and I’ve been told to change washing powder first. I was using Persil non bio before which obviously wasn’t good for baby. Have tried Ecover and the spots have improved. Now bought Surcare which you can get in Sainsbury’s. Don’t know about other supermarkets. It doesn’t have any smell or skin irritating ingredients. At the beginning I thought to carry on using old washing detergent for other clothes... but little one was getting new red breakouts on face as soon as he was leaning on daddy’s work jumper or laid on a throw on sofa, etc. You get the idea. Hope this helps xxx
Ohhh that’s a really good point about little one getting it from our clothes. We’re not sure yet if that’s what it is. Surcare was one I was looking at, we’re going to try get some tonight. Glad to get LO’s skin is getting better! Thanks so much xx
I am in UK and I use sainsbury's home brand on my daughter who as ezcma and it really good I wouldn't try any other brand on her as this as help her skin
