Advice for key workers

Hi everyone - looking for some advice!

I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant, and am an NHS key-worker - however made the decision to go on maternity leave early so am off work.

My other 1/2 is also an NHS key worker and is still at work. He is making sure to take clothes off at front door each evening, put them straight in the wash, go for a shower and then anti-bac all surfaces he’s touched. We’re also adhering to the 2 metre distancing in the house.

Do people think we’re okay to continue living in the same house? (He’s not symptomatic - if he was, I would move out)

Thanks and stay safe :)

Hi there

Nobody in our house is a key worker, but my husband and children have all been symptomatic but I’ve had no choice but to stay here as I don’t have anywhere else I can stay, plus I couldn’t leave the children. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant.

We used separate towels, slept in separate rooms, limited being in the same room (difficult with the children) and upped hygiene and cleaning. We have now passed the 7 day mark and I still haven’t had any symptoms. I know I’m not out of the woods and we don’t even know if they had it, but impossible to leave the house when you have other children to look after.

I think you would be ok to stay together. Just keep the hygiene up as it sounds you have been and perhaps sleep in separate rooms if you can?

Stay safe. Xx

I think it would depend on his role and his exposure/risk to covid-19. It might be worth checking if his work can offer temporary accomodation during this difficult period as another option if you become very worried? My hospital has offered this for staff living with vulnerable people. Otherwise i would try to sleep in separate beds and keep him away from the kitchen. But maybe I’m too paranoid ;)
