Dibble Rash

My son is 5 month old most of the time he is sucking his hand as a form of comfort. He refuses a dummy and spits it out. He now has what I think is a dribble rash by his mouth which is red in colour and small spots. I have booked an appointment with my Doctor about it but, will have to wait. I was told by a Doctor previously that he has some Baby acne, this could be related. I was told by a Doctor not to use products when washing him as he has sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and my whole family have it so runs in my family. I have put some vaseline on it the area. It about 1.5 cm long. My mum said not to worry about it. Does any one else have experience of something similar and what they did. I must add it doesn't seem to be causes any discomfort to him.

My baby had something similar when he was a few days old. The midwives said it would clear up on it’s own and it did. I found that it was being caused by me wiping his mouth so I started dabbing instead and applied sudacrem and it cleared up within a few days

My baby had dribble rash and it cleared quickly with lansinoh if this helps! I already had some in the house seen as I was breastfeeding. My son also since developed blotchy dry skin and red patches on his cheeks and chin and I was told my a doctor to use e45 which has worked for my son. x

Thanks everyone for your replies
