I was after a bit of advice with helping my baby self soothe and wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing.
My little boy is 8 and a half months old, he has either 2-3 naps a day and I will always put him down awake, it’s the same for bedtime and he is able to put himself to sleep.
Just recently he has been waking 3-4 times in the night and on the monitor I can see he is trying to put himself back to sleep, he whimpers and moves in to different positions and closes his eyes but within a couple of minutes he’s sitting back up or pulls himself up on the cot then he does the same (lies down and tries again) after a few times I can see he gets frustrated and then starts crying. If my husband or myself goes in at anytime he cries even more and then I end up feeding him to calm him down. I know he can sleep through or only wakes up once as he’s done it quite a lot before. I was just wondering if anyone can offer any advice on what I can do to help him?
Thanks 😊

Have you thought about introducing white noise? it is often quite calming for children my 8 month old baby listens to sounds of hoovers. Sounds strange but works the trick.
As your babies parent only you should be the one to decide on routines.
I would advise that 2-3 naps a day is far to much and he is probably not sleeping due to sleeping too much. I would recommend that you get up early with him say 8 am and put him for a nap at the afternoon say 12.30-1pm. My little girls routine works wonders. Find a routine that suits you. Also try giving your little one a nice warm bottle before bed/naps.

Awakes: 9 am
Nap time: 12.30 (I give a bottle before I let her sleep)
