Maternity bump

When did evreyone start going into Maternity wear? I’m 12 weeks and although I still fit into my clothes they are a tiny bit uncomfortable. At work my day to day uniform requires ironing and Is quite stiff but my works maternity dress is like a dream!! Do I start wearing it or is it too early and I’ll get judged too much at work

Yeah! It just will save me so much time in my day! There’s other people at work that say they never wore maternity clothes so they will be super judgy!! But my work uniform is so rubbish!! So the maternity wear is kinda lazy I guess

Oh bless you. In the nicest way f**k 'em! 😂 Let them be judgy if they're pathetic enough. This is your special wonderful time, you do what you like when you like, especially where comfort is involved, if they've got issues that's their problem. Xxx

I think you just wear what you are comfy in. I've worn my normal clothes pretty much throughout my pregnancy but maternity tights and leggings are a fab addition. Jean's are a bit on the tight side now but not buying any clothes for the sake of 6 weeks!!

As long as you're comfy it doesn't matter about other people's opinions x

I’m 31 weeks and still fit most of my clothes. Ive bought some extra leggings and about 3 pairs of maternity jeans but nothing else. I doubt I’ll buy anything more. Get whatever you feel comfortable wearing when u feel most comfortable...x

I was like you and felt uncomfortably bigger before I could even tell anyone! I bought some maternity jeans really early on - nobody knew they were with a long top! They lasted me so well for so long that I wore one pair out! And they’re great for after too. I bought maternity leggings, and pyjama bottoms a few sizes bigger than usual too. Sometimes just a different style of clothes early on is enough - I never realised that I went for clothes snug around the waist until I didn’t have a waist! At work I didn’t wear actual maternity uniform for quite a while but I did order a couple of sets of work clothes in a bigger size and they did for ages. Xxx

Start wearing maternity wear whenever you're ready, everyone is different. I think I changed bras at 8 weeks, jeans at 18 weeks and tops at 25 weeks (most of my tops were loose fitting anyway).

I started wearing maternity bras at 9 weeks and full maternity wear at 11 weeks! I can’t fit in any of my ‘normal’ clothes anymore ☹️

I couldn't fasten my normal jeans by week 6 - do what you feel best in, pregnancy is too long to be needlessly uncomfortable! x

Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable :-) I'm almost 18 weeks and am still in my normal clothes. I have outgrown a few things like high waisted trousers and fitted skirts but i'm also not big enough to wear maternity clothes yet so in that awkward in-between phase. It's important for you to feel comfortable and i'm sure no-one will judge you at all for that. You may also want to mix it up as you will have some days where you feel a little more bloated than others. xx

I don't understand why you would get judged and even if some people judged you it is their business, their choice to be judgy, not yours. You are pregnant and that's none of their business how your body and your clothes feel on you. Take care of yourself and do what's good for you!

Just find something you are comfortable in my own mother said she got the maternity wear early on. but you should just be prepared but do it when you are ready. I can promise you will not be judged if you are tell them to mind their own business or else you will get me - hannabelle on them. keep safe and good luck with the baby

I was off sick for most of the first trimester with hyperemesis so when I went back to work I just wore the maternity uniform. No point in being uncomfortable! People did judge and tell me that I was "too early to be wearing it" but I didnt care. I was about 14/15 weeks I just told them I would rather be comfy then humour them and their obvious desire to see me squeeze into something that was too small!

I lost quite a lot of weight before getting pregnant (and then in the first trimester 😐) so have managed to avoid buying a lot of maternity clothes as my old bigger clothes still mainly fit. I would advise finding a few staple things that you can wear the whole way through, I brought maternity jeans from mothercare and I've lived in them! Currently 29 weeks and have quite a chunky bump!x

I’m sorry to hear that you was so unwell! Yeah that’s a really good way of saying it! I don’t think I’ll even be in much maternity wear outside of work Cos pjs is all I’m wearing anyway lol! Makes me feel better that you ladies all understand xxx
