Our son is 15 months old. He can climb up and down stairs and off our bed which is quite high up.
I suggested turning our cot bed into a toddler bed and my fiancé agrees. I Google everything 😂 but I'm after people's actual opinions who have done this with their little ones please! Xx

My little girl was about that age when she climbed out her cot and banged her head quite bad, so we got her a toddler bed the next day. I had to take her to nursery with a huge bump on her head and explain why she had it, the nursery teacher said as soon as they start to climb out they should have a proper bed. But really not easy after that as she was in and out of that bed as she never wants to sleep!
My daughter was younger than 2 as I used the cotbed for the baby but we got her a toddler bed and put a baby gate on her bedroom door.
I have a cot bed and I've kept the sides up for my son. It's great for us. I know he's safe (he moves around a lot in bed - I know this as he also Co sleeps from the early hours). He can get off our bed easily but he has fallen head first a few times when shuffling in his sleep (when OH wasn't on the other side).
My friend has a baby the same age as mine (17 months) and she really regrets replacing her cot bed with a toddler bed as little one has fallen out a few times. I guess toddlers move a lot when they sleep.they also want him to stay in his own bed but he can get out and does what he wants! Lol.
But all babies are different. You know your child. Do you think he would be ok?
Thank you guys for your views! We decided to try it tonight. He's usually quite good just sits up in bed when he wakes up so we think he'll be okay. Putting a baby gate on his room too so we shall see! Xx
