cot mattress

Hi all,

I was just wondering what type of mattress people picked for their cots? Foam or spring ones? Been looking but can’t decide which is best really so looking to see what others have picked.

Thanks

We got a Silentnight Airstream Anti-Allergy and Temperature Regulating Cotbed Mattress xx

We got a dual spring one from mamas and papas (in the sale too so we only paid £100) it has a firmer side for a baby and a softer side for a toddler since our cot bed converts. You can also change which way the cover on it is for winter or summer (but I can’t tell which is which 🙈) It seemed a better investment at the time. Not long now before we start using it 😱 I think I’ll cope worse than the baby 😂 x

I got the same one, only using the cot for daytime naps at the moment though, he wakes too often at night to move him out yet! The mattress seems great though and, like you said, a great investment as it’s the only one we’ll need

My 4 1/2 month old still fits in her Moses basket so we’ve not even tried it for naps 😂 I’m having a debate when to move out, it’ll definately be 6 months or later but I’m trying to decide if we do it before she doesn’t need feeding at all at night or after (Currently I manage to feed her before she cries so my Husband isn’t disturbed, managed to make it down to 1 night bottle too 😀) After last nights rolling around every 2hrs I’m sure I would sleep a lot better (she didn’t cry though, just kept waking up) Decisions decisions! Oh and if you figure out which side is the summer and winter let me know 🙈 x

Mines 4 1/2 months too! He’s in a next2me at the moment at night but wanted to start getting him used to his big boy cot! He seems to have dropped some of his day feeds and picked them up overnight instead 🤦🏼‍♀️. No idea which side is which! 😂 sorry!

We have a next2me too and I love it! My little one was trying to drop day feeds too and do a long stint early morning until lunch, her bottles were tiny in comparison (60ml vs 180 at night!) I started to down her last bottle by 30mls to try and correct it, she must have heard me talking to someone about it though as 1 night of 150mls the stars aligned the next day and I saw she had taken enough formula to make it through and didn’t feed her when she stirred and it worked! 3 out of 4 nights for us on 5 bottles a day now, long may it continue! I keep track of her feeds though as she has a cows milk intolerance so we are on special formula so I was already edgy, then at 16 weeks she followed that up by a 4 day stint of half bottles and refusal to feed for hours! We ended up at A&E and that made me more paranoid again. After that feeds were all over! Tracking it has helped me drop her bottle though otherwise I would have fed her 😂 Hope the stars align one day for you, either that or you may need to encourage in the right direction too, tricky things x

Ah I’m breastfeeding so it’s hard to know how much he takes, I just feed on demand. I’m sure a lot of night feeds are more for comfort than hunger at the moment, they have insane developmental leaps at this age!

I have the wonder weeks app for leaps, we’re definately going through a big one right now! I’m sure the feeds will sort out eventually, after all who ever heard of a 10 year old waking for milk 😉😂 x
