We got ours from john lewis frm there essentials range..think it was about £70 x

This might depend on the type of crib/ basket you're planning to use in those 1st few weeks of baby's life

Kiddicare.com or Mothercare is good place to start looking at prices of all the different mattresses as the prices are quite good.

xx

I think it is really personally opinion as there are so many choices. I went for cosatto as they have 5 yr warranty and it was for cotbed. With mattress I went for spring one for firmness and again as it is for cot bed so ultimately want it to last him a while and hopefully ease transition to bed in future x

What I liked about my daughter's cot bed mattress was that it had a breathable side which seemed like a good thing when she was small and a waterproof side which was great when she was older and potty training. I mention it just in case it helps the decision making process!

This is the company we used - can't fault them. We have a Stokke Sleepi, so ordered a simple foam mattress for the 'mini' set up (like a crib) as will only be used for 6 months and wanted something that would cope better with posset/nappy leaks/etc.

When he moves into the full sized cot, I'll get a mattress based more on comfort as well as cleanability!!

Hi

After looking at all the expensive mattresses from the big name brands I discovered a company called Comfortex on the Internet. Basically they manufacture for mama and papas, saplings and ladybird at little woods and Argos and sell direct to the public out of there factory online store on amazon and eBay. I ordered there £44 pocket sprung mattress plus £6 postage and I have a quality mattress worth £100 which has saplings label on it! google them and they will come up. I recommend, they also do a cheaper interior sprung mattress and other types.
