Personally I’d write a list and then see what baby looks like to choose from. It’s what we did, I was sold on Annabelle but then when she arrived I went with Abigail as she felt more like an Abigail after a couple of days with her 😀 We also had Isabella (wasn’t keen on just Isobel) and a few others I can’t remember right now, we wanted something traditionalish but not super popular. Boys we had William, Thomas, Clark (my husbands choice after Clark Kent 😂) and Charlie. I think picking a name was that hardest part! Oh and pack them in your bag for the hospital as your brain will be like mush afterwards 😉 x
I didn’t have any boys names that I was drawn too but we had a gender scan at 16 weeks and found out it was a girl. We wanted something not too unusual but not common either. We decided on Florence and we had a toy box made with her name on before she was born so had to stick with it lol but luckily she suited it. We call her flo or my husbands fav is Flossie 🙈 I’m not too keen xx
We've finally settled on Harper for our girl who isn't due until May, my partner chose it and I wasnt a huge fan at first, but the more I kept saying it the more I've grown to love it. But I was really fussy as i didn't want a name that could be shortened. She could come out and not look like a Harper at all lol. I found the middle name harder as I dont like the female names in my family. But maybe try a few names and keep repeating them to see which one you like. And as someone else said they changed the name once they were here as they thought it suited them better. Good luck.
We struggled on names as I kept saying do you like and partner said no yo all of them. Found out were having a boy. Driving to mother in laws he blurted out Jenson Lea (lea being my mothers maiden nane) we both fell in love so its stuck. Just hope he looks like a Jenson when he comes in June xx
I’m a teacher so found picking babes thatcdid t remind me of a little angel (😂) difficult, especially boys! I didn’t want anything too traditional or common though. We were sold on Daisy for a girl but our 20 week scan showed a little boy. We went with Ralph in the end and we love it! Xxx
Although I didn’t find out at the scan what we were having I felt like it was a girl (which she was) and decided on Lily, but also Ellie was a choice. My freinds babies are called Millie, Thalia, Hettie, Willow. If we ever had another girl we would like to call her Hollie, so we would have to girls with flower/garden names.
The only problem with Lily’s name is that her dads brother has a daughter called Tilly which I didn’t give a thought to when Lily was born as we don’t get on with him and never see him, so now my 70 year old confused mother in law sometimes calls my daughter Tilly, which obviously annoys me, however we only see her once a month so can poke up with it.
Boys names were much harder, we were sold on Harry, but if I had a boy now I’m not sure as another friend we meet at baby group has a boy called Harry. I quite like Leo now as it’s my star sign. But also in the past before getting pregnant like Bradley and Harvey.
My mates boys are called Henry, Rex, Hunter, Harry, Freddie.
I like the name Oliver and Cameron (but my step son is called this, which may be why I like them both), also like Theo, Dexter, Blake, Harley.
We only had one boy name Logan and one girl name Eliza. So when we had a girl she suited Eliza. Her middle name is Mary Jane after both nannies. It’s so cute when she says her full name. Now we have to decide again I think we have s boys name but not a girls yet
