I think your GP is extremely insensitive and should have never been this forward!! He should have waited to at least gauge your inclination. Very careless influencing you/ someone in such a way!

I believe you will be placed under consultant care for your pregnancy- so they will look after you.
In terms of medication - don’t worry about it, take what you need to control your illness and what your doctor recommends you. Many many women are in exactly that position and have delivered healthy babies. I’m not sure if they might suggest an elective c section as being the safer delivery method - but this isn’t the end of the world either. And as you already have kids, you have plenty of experience to draw on.
I had to (and still am) take lots of drugs for pain control as I have a bad disc prolapse. Which is not what I had planned for my first pregnancy but I try not to stress too much. I’m not the first in this situation and I won’t be the last...
