Nipple stimulation to induce labour

Hi, not sure if anybody has tried this technique.

Google say it worked for a lot of mums who were around due date or over due.

Only massaging them contractions could start the same day or next day.

Any mum who has tried this?

I think it’s a bit of an old wives tale.

I tried it having read about it anecdotally inducing labour to no avail!

Can’t hurt to try though, it won’t do you any harm

Good luck xx

Thank you! I'll try and see what happens :) Who knows..

It didn’t work for me.

So my midwife came over to hand me more birth kit as we’re going for home birth. Just a casual chat with her she asked, (1) have you start doing your perinium - yes

(2) kegel exercise - yes

(3) mental relaxation - yes. Hypnobirth and mindfulness practice

(4) nipple stimulation - I was like .. huh??

Yeah!!, so it is something that might work!

Any guidance how to do it?

I've tried it for about 2 min, each nipple but just seen on internet should be done 4 min on each, rest 15 min, then other 4 min.....etc

I am due tomorrow, will start again this afternoon, it is a bit boring but let's see if it is worth it ☺
