Hi ladies, just after a bit of advice. What thermometer have you chosen for baby? Ones for arm pit or forehead... so many to choose from? Xx

It’s better to use armpit ones for baby’s as they are more accurate. We got one in a little pack that included scissors, brush and toothbrush from tommee tippee but have since bought a Mothercare one xx

Ahh i see... that tommee rupee is on my list of things to buy lol... but wasn’t sure if the thermometre was used for everything if you know what I mean xx

That’s what we have always used but we haven’t had to use that much. I chose that one as on the NHS website it says to do armpit for children under five plus it’s easier. We did have an ear one but it’s was a fiddle xx

I’ve bought an electronic Braun one that goes in the ear. Had different settings depending on age of the baby/child. I read that ear readings are the most accurate x

We use Braun ThermoScan 7 IRT6520 (so does our GP) for our toddler and are very happy with it. It is very easy to use and very consistent. I take several readings form each ear to make sure there aren't variances. It was around £40 when we purchased it and I highly recommend it. It comes with disposable tips and it uses two AA batteries but we haven't changed them since we purchased it over a year ago.
