Hey!

I overpacked but was induced so glad I did as couldn’t go home for 5 days and other half had enough to focus on with bringing me food and looking after the pets lol.

- pack of newborn nappies, water wipes, nappy bags.

- 3x newborn short sleeve baby grows 3 x long sleeve baby grows. 2 x baby hats (newborns can’t regulate temp especially when first born) , 2 x scratch mits, 1 x knitted baby cardigan 2 x new baby outfits for warmth and of course pictures :) - baby blanket although most hospitals supply these.

- maternity pads, breast pads,

- 1 x short PJ set 1 x long PJ set ( I feel my temperature kept changing lol), comfy tracksuit, secure slippers for use around hospital and trainers for when you arrive can be worn when you leave.

- Few pairs of comfy knickers and bras. 2 x vest tops and a cardi or light jumper to throw over PJs if needed.

- travel toothbrush, travel toothpaste. Deodorant, baby lotion for face and body after shower (great to apply to give a nice scent after birth and you know won’t irritate baby’s skin during skin to skin contact and cuddles!) use baby wipes for your own face to save packing face wipes and pack a travel Vaseline if using gas and air as makes lips so dry!

- phone charger and headphones and then then ask visitors to bring any mags or books and some sweets, grapes, fizzy drinks if you fancy! Most hospitals sell these anyway if you forget or crave something!

Sounds a lot but I packed all neatly into one bag and felt so relaxed I had all I needed and no stress i would be missing anything - baby clothes are so small it’s worth picking extra incase u do stay longer.

Such an exciting time I want to do it all over again!!! Good luck babe x

Loads of big knickers, maternity pads, lots of comfy clothes (leggings and thin tops I liked best as the hospital is kept warm for the newborns anyway.)

Jumpers for you just in case

Mini bottles of soaps and shampoo toothpaste etc... lots of bobbles and clips if you have wild hair like me haha.

4 short sleeve vests for baby

4+ baby grows

Scratch mits (I didn’t really use them I was to busy holding my sons hands constantly lol)

A couple of hats for baby

(I was in for 5 days so I had my partner bring extras anyway)

Warm snow suit for when taking baby home, or jumper and blanket.

Charger

Nappies

Wipes

The mini formula bottles and teats in case you can’t breast feed or chose not to.

Good luck x

Slightly random but the Most Useful thing for me was drinking straw! When I was in labour not having to hold a cup/bottle was great..I pass this tip on to everyone I know who's pregnant 😊
