I’m having a growth scan on Monday because they suspect she’s smaller due to me being overweight and having a high bmi what should a baby weigh at 28 weeks?

Hi they’ve said more or less the same to me my last growth scan was 31 weeks she weighs around 3lb 11 ozs they said that’s not too small but having another at 34 weeks at 26 weeks she weighed 2lb 4oz x it’s brill seeing them loads haha x only got to see my other two twice x they both weighed 6lb 7 oz full term I didn’t think that was too small but docs said they did x my eldest is now 5ft 9 with size 8 feet size 10 she 15 and my youngest is 5 and really really tall too x

I really don't know what they expect baby to weigh. Did they send you for one due to fundal height? I'm overweight bmi is 32 Im having growth scans for various reasons. My little boy estimated weight at 28 weeks was 3lb and he's on 90th centile. I really think these whole measurements thing is unnecessary worry. They measured me yesterday at hospital and I'm 29 weeks but fundal height is 35 she said it's good they've got me in for anther scan in 3 weeks, it's crazy xx system needs updating xx

I'm having growth scans as well because I'm underweight and I think it is very good to have them worry about the development of my baby. If they haven't offered me these extra scans I would be freaking out about LO wellbeing. Thanks God system cares about us.

The reason I think the measurements system up to date is unnecessary and worries so many of us because they say baby is either too big or too small and when the baby arrives baby is fine majority of time. Checking on babies development im all for. They worried me from 13 weeks saying my boy would be small and he'd come early. When I had my scan at 20 weeks the midwife said he's a very big boy from then on all the way to my growth scan I worried he was going to not develop enough and be small and drop loads from the 90centile, thankfully he hadn't. The fundus measurement system in my opinion is very outdated and anxiety is created when bump is too big or small I understand the reasons the behind these things and yes it is good to check. I just see a lot of worry over these scans and measurements and then things turn out to be fine when parents have been worried bubu is too big or small. I just feel these things need to be updated I don't think checking on the baby is unnecessary I think the systems need updating because I see the unnecessary worry they cause time and time again. That's all. X

I'm in same position had a scan at 28 week and baby is only tracking on 10th percentile so in again at 30 weeks then 32 weeks for more scans to keep an eye. With my second I had growth scans 4 weekly but he was born 7 lb 13 oz and no one said he was small during scans but with my 3rd they've have said they are concerned . My eldest was born at 6lb 7 oz.

Baby 3 is tracking on tenth percentile while his length and head and stomach measurements are tracking at around 50th percentile or higher
