So I've been thinking about having a 4D scan later down the line. Has anyone done it? Is it worth it? And where's best to go?

I personally didn't do it....a few of my mates did and all their baby images looked like the same baby lol!! I found it too costly for me. However, I remember some ladies on here saying you can get offers on Groupon, perhaps check that out :-) x

Where are you? There are several places around the UK so depends where you are as to which place people may recommend. I had one done (well 2 actually as she wouldn't budge on the first one so got the second one for free). I got still images and a DVD. Not sure i'd do it again though as she looked freaky. The only reason I got it done was because my husband was in afghan throughout most of my pregnancy and missed all the scheduled scans however he subsequently missed the 4d one due to them changing the date of the scan! I wasn't happy! I live on IoM and there isn't one based here but a company called reassur3d come to the island once a month. They are in Manchester, Sheffield and Doncaster reassur3d.com they were good.

I am same as fattyboom, I personally think they look a bit freaky and they look the same. if u hav groupon they often do offers on there but again its still costly, not against them just not for me, I spent tht money on personal things for my sons room xx

Yea I saw it on groupon that's what made me think of it. I agree it's freaky but I'm so intrigued lol. I'm in Essex. Found a few places but want the best. Don't want to be scammed. I'm lucky with the nursary as my parents run a French period style furniture company and are interior designers so rooms kitted :) lucky me x

We decided that we wanted to see our baby for the first time when he was born and not ruin the surprise by seeing his face on a scan. I agree that most of the ones iv seen do look a bit weird!

we did it and I loved it - I am one of those over curious souls who always wants to know more and more, so ofcourse I was unstoppable when i discovered its possible. We went when I was already 36 weeks, (which was little big for the perfect scanning) but it was a great experience.

Through scan we thought the baby looks like me (and yes she looks like me, ofcourse she should look like me!)...but we had many other curiosities too which were kept for the real birth time as me and my husband comes from two very different parts of the world, he has blond hair with blue eyes and I have black hairs with black eyes - so not all of our suspense was broken.

We are in Edinburgh and we went to 'Babes in the Womb' (i think they are in other parts of scotland too) - they gave us a package, with a teddy with baby's heart beat, baby's pictures on DVD and a full video of Isabella's moments inside my stomach with a background music of our choice. What more, they also offered us a very cheap package for bump, baby(newborn and than 6 months), and first year photo-shoot with a professional photographer. which was really enjoyable again (especially the bump shoot)

so if you are in Scotland, than I highly recommend babes in the womb

I haas one and loved it, got to see my lg yawn, cuddle up to the umbilical cord! It was lovely, she does look like her scan pic, she looked gorgeous not freaky. It cost me 134.00 I got a DVD and a cd and 4 pics in a folder. I saved up and thought it was well worth it. I actually had mine done by the same sonographer that did my 20 week scan! It was at a hinchingbrook in Cambridgeshire. For me highly recommended

With my first child, I got a free 4D scan at the NHS hospital because the baby was being very uncooperative for the normal scanner at 20 weeks. I loved the strange little picture of my baby's face, and it really is recognisable as him - now 5 years old. I did not have one for my second child and would not bother paying or travelling for one, but it is a nice picture to keep.

I had one too, but for a bargain £19 on Wowcher! They're on regularly so keep an eye out. It was good to show our older children tha there really was a baby in there. They had a room with sofas and a 50" tv screen to watch as she scanned. It was nice, but I wouldn't spend a fortune on it.
