Private NIPT fetal rhesus testing in London?

Hi all. I’m rhesus negative and 18 weeks pregnant. My hospital will give me anti-D later in pregnancy but I know some hospitals offer a blood test where they can check if baby is rhesus negative or positive so could avoid these injections. Does anyone know anywhere in London that offers this privately? Please PM with details. Thanks

Can't tell you were to have that tests done. But the anti d injections aren't bad it takes two seconds and protects you and baby just in case. Is your partner negative or positive?

Thank you for replying :) - I’m not too worried about the injections. Was hoping to save the NHS some money and resources by avoiding them if not needed. My partner is positive so I know that baby may be negative or positive.

Personally I shouldn't worry too much about saving them money it's a couple of injections. It's minimal compared to what people washer going to accident and emergency that could have waited to the doctors .

I'm negative and my partner is positive. We are on our 3rd pregnancy now and I've had them with all 3.

By all means have the fetal test if you want to. Just make sure you are aware of any possible risks from having it done. Not that I think you wouldn't anyway but sometimes things are better said just in case.

Wish you all the best with your pregnancy.xx

Haha- know what you mean about A&e attenders. I work for the NHS so it’s something very close to my heart. The anti-d actually comes from donor blood so it’s another pressure on blood banks too. Doesn’t look like anywhere is doing it privately at the moment even though it is being rolled out in NHS hospitals.

Hope all is going well with your 3rd pregnancy-you’re a pro now!

I used to work for NHS, so did my mother she was a midwife. My aunt was a nurse and is now a health visitor, so i get how annoying people wasting resources can be.

And this will be my last pregnancy as each one is worse than the previous im 29 weeks and am still being medicated for sickness had severe SPD and now they are concerned about babys weight so im on 2 weekly growth scans now.

Fingers crossed he will be healthy, but we shall have to wait and see.
