Just wondering if anyone has experienced Braxton Hicks contractions? I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing these for several weeks. Midwife and GP confirmed that this is most likely what i'm feeling. Started off mild and they have recently become alot more noticeable and more frequent. This is my first pregnancy so have no idea what's normal and how often they should be happening ?

Iv experienced these past two nights (I never did with my first) they say if your having more than 4 an hour and noticing a pattern your best to get checked out just to make sure it's not preterm labour, but it's most likely to be the body gearing up for the big day. Don't ever feel like a nuisance though it's always better to be safe than sorry hun. They should be irregular and not painful. Xxxx
Thanks so much for your response. I genuinely don't think there is anything too much to worry about as i've had no real pain, just lots of tightening across my tummy which is a bit uncomfortable. I suspect it probably is body getting ready but just to be on the safe side have sent my midwife a message. Hope all is going well with you xxx ❤
Yeah. We have an instinct when we think it's something to worry about. Although my instinct hasn't been very good since the midwives scared me to, death at 13 weeks, I'm ok just have some bug which isn't much fun. Not long for you now lovely. Remember to keep hydrated that can make the tightenings worse 😘💝
I had Braxton Hicks during pregnancy. I got them from about 24 weeks right up until contractions. They are completely normal and I noticed that they became more frequent further along my pregnancy. Some days I would get several per hour. The difference between Braxtons and contractions is that contractions are more in the back. So I felt like I had backache and that I needed to poo. You will feel the difference when it happens. A contraction will stop you from walking. Braxtons are a good way to prepare the body for birth. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x
