Hi guys,

Well 46 year old and just found out im prego. I have two beautiful daughters 21 and 12. My boyfriend and I are both in shock because I've been having hot flashes and all signs of Peru med. I have pernious anima and have been extremely sick in and out of the hospital. I was also on the pill to help with my periods. I have to give myself a b-12 shot no weekly and makes me so sick for 3 days usually. I haven't been feeling right and really sick! Figured out of the blue that I would take a test and I couldn't believe my eyes. I don't even know if I'm healthy enough to carry this child. Very confused. Also I have been barreling with depression, anxiety, ptsd, panic attacks since I was 26 so I've been on meds forever. My mind is mush and I have the best boyfriend ever but I just can't believe it. Thanks guys. Had to vent for a minute.

I think maybe if you have health problems speaking to your doctor about the safety aspect of a pregnancy would be a good idea. Other than that if you and your partner are happy to have a child congratulations. I know people who went on to have children later in life a friend of mine is 26 and has a one year old little sister and their parents do just fine with her and their 5 year old brother.

Hi Hun sorry to hear you have been in and out of hospital with your sickness and b-12 !! How is your anxiety and depression is it controlled with medication? How do you feel about being pregnant and becoming a mummy again do you feel you can do it , it’s a beautiful gift for you and your partner but only you can decide Hunni if you feel able to do it again with your health. I would speak to your gp or a midwife, and explain your worries and health. But also fair play to you getting pregnant at 46 you must be still healthy enough babe , I wish you the very best with what you decide.

By the way everyone needs to vent now and again lol that’s what we’re here for xxx

Hi hun, congratulations. I know it can be scary. I got pregnant at 42, I too have pernicious anaemia and have been on medication for depression. I had a great pregnancy though closely checked as classes as high risk. My gorgeous little boy is 4 now and wonderful. My older 2 boys (22 and 20) adore him and are both his godfathers. Don't be afraid to talk to your midwife about any concerns. The only thing I did have to do was give myself daily fragmin injections due to being high risk. All will be good hun, just try to enjoy xx
