Traveling suggestions 19-21 weeks

Hello lovelies!

I'm currently only 5weeks 4days, I get married next Saturday (7th july) and we were planning on going on honeymoon in October but now I am pregnant.

Originally we were going to go to Indonesia and Borneo but are unsure now because of the malaria risk. I will be 19 weeks to 21 weeks at the time of honeymoon time booked off work. Nothing is booked yet, has anyone got any suggestions?

Obviously holiday insurance will be added to include pregnancy!

Suggestions of where or if other people have been away during pregnancy would be great, thanks! Xxx

I went to turkey at roughly 22 weeks. Wherever you go just make sure you keep well hydrated, get flight socks etc.

It was 5 years ago now but I don't think you need specific insurance for your pregnancy, just make sure you have good cover x

I would probably stick to non exotique ... aka no risk of malaria or Zika virus.

The CDC website lists these.

I personally would avoid anywhere very hot a d humid as night be a struggle esp if nauseous.

Talk to your Midwife relocation. But there is nothing wrong with physically going away. All I'd add to that is they need to do your 20 week scan within that time frame. I asked to change mine and was told it had to be done by 21 weeks, though you won't have had your 12 weeks scan so until that point you can't be sure if the weeks (mine changed from 12+4 to 13+1, could make all the difference)

I have to have extra scans as I have endometriosis which was removed through surgery in January. So my first scan is at 8 weeks then I get 12 week scan and possibly one at 16 weeks too, depending on everything else really. But I hadn't thought about the 20 week scan at all!! Thank you 😊

I would also have a search on where currently has measles outbreaks, a lot of Europe has had pockets of outbreaks so it would be worth avoiding the risk of exposure.
