I googled it. So it’s what we call the morning after pill or emergency contraception. Why would you do this? Why could you not go on regular contraception?

Any form of morning after pill's safety has only been trialed and approved on occasional basis, they have no idea what taking it regularly could do to your body plus its far more expensive than any other regular contraception. If you are using it regularly you should be going onto an approved long term contraceptive

Yaa long term contraceptive is good option but I have already used ipills 3-4 times to stop pregnancy without telling my partner. So I just want to know can a doctor identify the exact reason of not being pregnant during pregnancy chekup......

I mean to say can a doctor find out or not that I had taken ipills to stop pregnancy.

Are you in England?

You can get depo provera injection (progesterone) every 3 months from your Dr to stop pregnancy if you don't want your partner to know you are using contraception.

Ideally you should be able to talk to him but I know life's not always simple x

Through a blood test for hormones possibly but why can't you tell your gp? GP should be able to offer better long term contraceptives.

Why are you using emergency contraceptive every time you have sex? Why aren’t you just using a form of contraceptive such as condoms, the pill?

The emergency contraceptive pill has similar side effects to the pill however it is not as effective.

The doctor can not find out that you have been using the emergency pill... but does it matter? The doctor is not your mother but a health professional, they are not there to give you a telling off. Eventually if you get pregnant when you don't want to you (not the doctor) will have to deal with the consequences

I suggest you speak to your GP about contraceptives choices available to you.

As a Dr, I don't advise you to continue using the emergency pill. And no, it can't be detected from a blood test. A preg test only shows neg or positive for HCG hormone levels.

Thanku for replying. From next time I will not take pills.

Are u gynecologist?

Is there any other possibilities to identify that I had taken pills many times?

I’m guessing you don’t want a baby and you’re worried your dr will tell your partner you have been using the emergency pill?

No Dr is allowed to break confidentiality.

There are few circumstances where a doctor can break confidentiality but this is not one of them... although I think this will depend on the country you live in

I’m really confused by this post - so are you and your partner ‘trying for a baby’ but you are using the ipill because you don’t want one? And you have an appointment with your GP to find out why you’re not pregnant and you’re worried they’ll know it’s because you keep taking the ipill? In which case would it not be better to just be honest with everyone involved so you’re not wasting everyone’s time - your wishes and feelings in the matter are important and valid! It seems like you need to be open and communicate with your partner. Unless I’ve got the total wrong end of the stick of this post in which case ignore me!

My actual problem is I don't want to be pregnant for two three years..I want to concentrate on my studies...but my partner forced me for a baby. So I used emergency contraceptive pills 3-4 times ......but now my tension is whether a doctor find out or not that I had taken pills many times to stop pregnancy.

I want baby but not now because m not mentally prepared for this.

So I want your help

Plz try to understand my problem....nd plz tell your opinion ....can doctor identify the exact reason of not being pregnant?????

Ok I’m with you - that’s a very difficult and horrible situation you find yourself in and I’m so so sorry you’re going through this! In short - no they can’t. But as others have said previously it is not good for YOU to keep doing this as the pill is a very high dose of synthetic hormones that hasn’t been tested in regular use. Your reason for wanting to wait are perfectly reasonable - would your partner not understand if you told him? My worry for you would be that if you start down the route of seeing a dr. Regarding why you’re not conceiving you could be setting yourself up for a load of unnecessary and lengthy fertility tests . . .

Yaaa u r right....

I m not ready for baby now but my partner wants soon so he is confused why m not pregnant and he decided to take me to gynecologist for check up ...... I don't know what the doctor will reply after check up .....whether he detect the exact reason....?

I don't want partner to know about these pills .....

Tell you partner dr will not do anything unless you have been actively trying for at least 1 year. Also it might be HIM not able to get you pregnant.

In the meantime please see a GP in your own and be honest with your GP and get long term contraceptives x

Your partner should not force you to get pregnant. If you are in an abusive relationship please contact women's aid for help x

From next time I will not take these pills but this time m worried....what the doctor will say about me after pregnancy chekup?

jenna01 profile image
jenna01 in reply tohhee

They won’t say anything because they won’t be able to know about the pill. I see you’re in India which throws up a few differences I’m not sure about, but are you able to go to a dr by yourself to organise contraception for the years you are studying? Once you are ready for a baby you can stop taking it. In the meantime just keep telling your husband that you’re not ready, and when you go to the dr for pregnancy checkup tell the dr that you’re not ready and would like to wait? Or will that be difficult for you with husband there?

Georgina_D profile image
Georgina_D in reply tohhee

Why are you so scared of what the dr will say? When a couple are trying for a baby.. Dr should test man and woman to find cause of infertility. Can u not refuse to go with your husband?

jenna01 profile image
jenna01 in reply toGeorgina_D

I think she’s scared of her husband finding out more than what the dr says at it sounds like she has a lot of pressure being placed on her - I think there’s a lot of cultural differences between India and the UK regarding family life that are difficult for us to wrap our heads around 😩 I really for you girl - let us know if there’s any way we can help!

The doctor will not be able to tell no. What a horrible situation for you, this makes me sad that this is still happening in this day and age. How old are you? Where do you live in the world? x
