Pill dilemma

Ive been on the pill on and off for about a year, although I was taking it religiously for around 4 months.

I stopped taking the pill on 29th Nov, although i had been sexually active the previous week.

I haven't had a period since 15th Nov. Anyone else had this problem? Or have i been careless?

Have you taken a pregnancy test? It would give you an accurate result now and it may be best to rule that out first. Do you normally have a bleed a few days after coming off the pill? X

Thank you. I am going to take a test tomorrow. Yeah I normally come on around day 5 of my week break.

I'd definitely take a test. However, a bleed on the pill is not actually the same as a period and it may just be that your ovaries have not started producing eggs again yet. It can take quite a long time, depending on what pill you were on.

Thank you. I've not done a test yet. Am going to do one tomorrow. I just wondered if anyone had had a similar experience and could put my mind at ease. I was only ssexually active once and it was straight after my break bleed. Don't know if that makes a difference?

The above link may help in terms of reassurance. To be honest, similar experiences wouldn't really mean too much for you as different bodies do different things anyway. Personally, I think you're probably OK. The above link says you should consider yourself fertile 2 weeks after stopping the pill. On the other hand, the pill has a 48 hour window max (as far as I'm aware) and sperm can live inside you for seven days, so it is still technically possible, although I reckon fairly unlikely.

Hope you get the result you want. :-)

Unlikely to get pregnant if you were still on the pill. No harm in taking a test tho as even on the pill nothing is 100% foolproof... however your period can be irregular after stopping any contraception m. Also if you don't want to get pregnant I'd sort out a different type of contraception
