Hello everyon3,

Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice.

I came off my contraception pill Cerelle in July this year and the doctor told me that it can take up to a year for my periods to start. I have been very lucky and they started straight away.

I was hoping you all could offer some experiences and advice to keep my spirts up about trying for a baby. It has only been 5 attempts but, I can already feel upset each time my period starts again. I had a miscarrige last year, after falling pregnant when we werent even trying and now feel something is up. My husband and I are so desperate for a baby. Getting tired of people telling us to not try, just enjoy it and it will happen when it happens !! Its so hard when a baby is all you ever wanted!

Any advice please ? TIA

Xx

Hiya I know exactly how you feel and we ended up having IVF but it is very annoying when people offer their opinions!

Have you tried ovulation tests? Although I obviously didn’t get pregnant using these it did help focus on something plus helped us know exactly what days were best to try as my periods weren’t always regular xx

Thank you for your reply. My husband and I have worked so hard for the 8 years we have been together to make a home and achieve our careers. I am a very impatient person though so that does not help.

I just feel that everyone is butting in at the moment just with comments with 'when you gonna have a baby?' And just want people to keep out. Im going to try ovulation tests. Thank you for that advice and good luck with the IVF xxx

Thank you! I’m now 34 weeks. It’s the worse when people ask questions and they don’t have a clue what effect it has asking things like that. I never told anyone about the IVF but felt like it when they constantly asked me! Xx

Hi,

I was on Cerelle, came of in the March, periods started in the July, didn’t conceive until the November. Hang in there. I know it’s really tough but I was told it was normal for it to take up to a year and any longer to go see the DR.

Good luck x

Thank you xx

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. Came off cerrelle in July, periods returned August and settled into a pattern and we have been TTC since last August but nothing yet. I know exactly how you feel about all the comments from everybody about "oh, it's your turn next, when are you having a baby" every time somebody drops a comment or my period arrives each month a bit of my heart is broken. Stay strong and keep baby dancing one day soon it will be our time and there will be a reason why our bodies didn't let it happen sooner. We have tried ovulation tests and they still havnt seemed to help us yet but could help you so maybe worth a try. If anybody else has experienced the same kind of things I'd love to know how long it took people to TTC after stopping cerelle, or if anybody has any recommendations for things to try which have worked for them. Thanks and good luck

Thank you so much for you reply. Your reply makes me feel so much better knowing that I am not the only one feeling like im losing a bit of my heart each time.

It is so hard. People notice my facial expression when they ask and seem to register that im not happy talking about it. I have lost 4 stone and gain consent from my doctor to start trying, been on folic acid since I started trying aswell.

Just feel like everyone else had gotten pregnant dead quick or within a month or so and, my husband and I are asking when is going to be our turn ?

Wishing you so much luck with your baby. Keeping fingers crossed for you BPF. Happy new Year xx

Hi, completely understand! If it’s all you want it’s so hard to not be focussed on it. Have you tried monitoring your ovulation with an app or tests? That helped us. I got pregnant the first month we actually did it on the “right day” ...... it’s so easy to not realise when you’re actually fertile as the window is quite small. good luck! You will get there eventually and it will all be worth it. Our boy is 16 months now xx

It is very hard when everyone is constantly asking you etc . My advice is try and keep relaxed about it - baby will make an appearance when you and your body are ready ( dont listern to other people - its not a race xxxx
