Has he pooed at all since he's been born? I would contact your midwife you should still be under their care (if uk based)

If your baby is breast feeding they can go sometimes between 7 & 10 days without pooping because breast milk is so efficient and this is fine.

However, if your baby seems to be in discomfort or pain then I’d see your midwife or doctor.

According to the NHS website you should contact your Midwife if Baby has not pooped in 48-72 hours. The general rule of thumb is that breastfed babies should do 2 poos a day but this can vary. My Midwife told me that breastfed babies poo more regularly than bottle fed. She also said if Baby is vomiting but not pooing the baby’s bowels could be blocked up. Is she weeing regularly? If yes, that means the baby is well hydrated. There could be no poo because the poo is changing from meconium to real poo.

Hope that helps x
