hi.. i have received my test results for Downs Syndrome (trisomy 21) as 1 in 1145. does this mean that there is very minimal risk and the baby is safe. please advice. Thank you

This is a probability test so will never give you a definite yes or no. But at these less it shows a very low chance of Down syndrome. It checks specifically for this condition. Sometimes they check for other conditions (patau and Edwards syndrome) and should give you another probability result.

I believe the results show that there is a low risk but you should discuss it with your midwife at your next appointment.

If you were high risk, you would have been told. I think high risk is like 1:200 chance.
