Cant say I'm keen lol xx
I saw it on the daily mail a bit back. How silly when a child is only supposed to stay in a car seat fr 2 hours and that style of seat only lasts 6-9 Months!!! Xx
My car seat attaches to my pram chassis - this is basically the same thing? It's extremely handy for popping to the supermarket/doctors/family visits etc etc if people have the money to buy it then why not, I've seen a lot more pointless baby items than this!
The issue is more safety/spinal damage not the fact its pointless. Most car seats now attach to the chassis and yes it makes life a tad easier but keeping baby in that position for any length of time is unhealthy! Thats the concern.
But it is obviously for short term use - it is a car seat after all. Saying this 'pram' is unhealthy is like saying traveling in a car with a baby is unhealthy
Travelling in a car with a baby in a car seat for longer than 2 hours IS unhealthy. If its "obviously" for short term use, what would one do if they were spending a day out.... driving to the seaside, walking round all day then driving back for example?
If they were spending a day out they would "obviously" not use this all day? 'Travelling in a car with a baby in a car seat for longer than 2 hours IS unhealthy' - many car journeys are MUCH longer than this. It is parental responsibility and common sense to take breaks and give the baby's back a rest every so often. The pram itself poses no problems. It is parental stupidity and how the item is used which would dictate whether an issue of safety arises.
I understand what you're saying and its true about parental responsibility, but I know that personally on a family day out my child will need it's puschair, not just a carseat. This 'pram' however defies that
I agree, this is clearly for short trips, to the supermarket, quick trip to the shops etc. For a day out you'd need a lie-flat pram, but this would be so useful for those quick trips as it would free up loads of space in the boot. Not needed, but if you've got the money, why not?
The idea for this 'pram' is that it's all you need until your baby outgrows it - i am all for travel systems (own one myself ha ha) but all this is, is a car seat which is the worst for a baby Vs the carry cot and seat unit itself. If car seats were suitable for length periods at a time id be all for it!
Awful- prams like this should be banned, i have seen one similar in mothercare. I had physio for my little one and they are so against them. Babies spines are so delicate and can be easily adversely affected by sitting like this. The physios told us that even 2 hrs in a car seat is pushing it! Baby should lie flat x
seems like a lot of money for something you are going to use for possibly only 6 months.. my lo is 8-9 months no and way too big for his littole car seat as he is over a stone and a half.. (he is a very long boy) family has people in over six foot.. i wouldnt spend 300 pounds on something for that short a time
