Ready to go milk

Think I know the answer to this but would like people's thoughts as it's not on the label!

We are feeding LO with Cow & Gate ready to go milk, the bottle has 200ml but the LO feed is currently only 120ml, meaning there is 80ml left. The labels reads once opened refrigerate and use within 24 hours... does this mean we can use the 80ml and top up 40 from a new bottle for the next feed in 4 hours? So basically mixing bottles or would you bin the unused 80ml in each bottle?

Thanks in advance for any replies and advice

I don't see why you can't mix them? I'm no expert but I do have a 10 week old and I've done it and she's fine lol xx

I would have thought if within the 24 hour period it was fine?

Yeah I take the 200ml bottles when I got round my moms for the day. He won't drink a full bottle so always combined bottles. As long as drunk in 24hrs is fine.

Don't worry about mixing them or even leaving them in a bag when out. Baby milk is basically whey protein, so the proteins break down fairly quickly meaning that they have a short shelf life once opened.

Have you not considered powdered milk? And using a milk dispenser tub for when your out and about? Your just fill up your bottles with the required amount of boiled water, and put in your changing bag. Then put the required amount of formula powder into the dispenser and mix when your out. That way you don't need to carry a load of formula with you and there's no waste.

Let's face it formula is not cheap.

ive got a munchkin dispenser and an advent one. I perfer the munchkin one as it's easier to clean - no little gaps for the formula to get stuck in.
