I will be 20 weeks pregnant this Thursday with my first baby and I was wondering when the flutters turn into kicks xx

Baby kicks
Hope you're enjoying the flutters
I think it depends on each baby and position of placenta - very individual thing. I am 24 weeks pregnant now. First flutters appeared on week 16 and kicks on week 17. However, in first pregnancy it is normal to start to feel kicks on week 25.x
It depends on where your placenta is. If you haven't had your 20 week scan yet, they can let you know. If it's anterior (at the front) then you will probably not have big kicks for a while but the flutters are a great indicator of babies heath and they will become stronger and more regular from now on. If it's posterior (at the back) then you should start to get them within a few weeks. I think I was about 25 weeks with my first when she started giving me good strong kicks but the second has been giving them for a few weeks already, and I can tell roughly which way baby is etc (now 25 weeks) as heatbutts and kicks are now a bit different. I can also see little movements on the outside of my tummy which started in the last week or so, these are usually from strong kicks at the top of the uterus. It also depends how much fluid you have as a lot of fluid means baby has a lot of room to move about in but more fluid is better than less for baby anyway.
I am not sure to be honest but it just gets stronger week by week. I am 33 weeks and she properly boots me now. 😃
It really depends on where your placenta is. I was getting big movements about 18 weeks.
I have an anterior placenta and I have felt kicks since week 20 (I never really felt any flutters before then though). It's a noticeable little kick but not super strong. My husband could feel a kick for the first time when I was bang on 22 weeks. It's my first pregnancy so combined with the anterior placenta I wasn't expecting to feel anything until 20+ weeks.
