Migrains
Hi, I had this through out my pregnancy I am 32 weeks now and the sickness has stopped. There's not a lot you can do I was at the doctors all the time and even though they we lovely there wasn't much they could do apart from sign me off because I was in no state to work. I used stay in a dark room and I bought some ice packs like the ones you used to have in school that used to help me sleep. And believe it or not swimming helped me because you feel cool and relaxed. At the hospital i am giving birth they gave me a big booklet on them and what natural ways to try and relieve them. Light Exercise like swimming or yoga or people tried acupuncture and you could get this at your hospital but speak to your gp first. Your food as well try not eat chocolate or cheese. It might also depend what vitamin tablets your taking I switched my in my second trimester to the ones the midwife give you and though they didn't go completely they weren't as bad. Hope this helps I know it feels unbearable at times I just used to thing it's not for long and I get a beautiful baby at the end.
Are you drinking enough water? Eating a well balanced diet, enough salt and sugar? I get migraines monthly and find they are worse if I've not been drinking enough or eating healthily! Once it's started, I find taking paracetamol, drinking a can of Coca Cola and using 4Head (stick or strips) help me, they don't shift it completely immediately, but enough that I don't have to take to my bed. I've tried other cooling head things but the scent in 4Head is what relaxes me enough to cope. Really feel for you. Go and ask your doctor as sometimes there are other drugs they can prescribe if the effects of the problem outweigh the risk to the pregnancy. X
Thank you, I drink more water the normal with it being warmer, but because in feeling sick all the time I'm sipping I'm starting to get a temtreture partner wants me to go to the doctors but when you physically can't lift your head its a night mare. I had migraine before I was pregnant due to having a lumber puncture the hospital did wrong but I usually get them later in the day and they were bareable. It's got to the point were sleeping doesn't get rid and the slightest movement hurts
Hi I just thought I would let you know my doctor got me an appointment at the hospital to see consultant for neuro. I went today they can give you stuff to help it and prevent it. They where amazing and they said they wish they had seen me earlier. If I had seen them earlier the last 8 months and pregnancy would have been more enjoyable. So I really advice you asking your doctor for a referral .
I had migraines throughout, the doctor said it was due to my yoyoing blood pressure so I'd advise getting an appointment! In the mean time I found cutting out high sugar/salt foods and staying hydrated helped a bit, as well as paracetemol, cold presses, 4head, and dark cool room for rest!
