Mother Baby Observation

As part of my training I need to complete a mother and baby observation. The aim of this observation is to help develop my understanding of child development in early relationships, and observational skills.

I have been asked to observe a baby once a week for an hour, over a period of one year from as near birth as possible to one year. I am required to set the day and time at fairly regular weekly intervals.

I will not be actively involved in what is going on in the family. I will take up the position of observer in the development of relationships between the baby, parents and family members. In this way, I hope to learn about the development of early relationships through experience, rather than relying on books.

I will keep some notes about the observations and these will be discussed in a small supervision group for educational use. The notes will be made anonymous and I will not be talking about identifiable information.

I have been subject to the CRB checks as part of my course.

If you are not able to help, but know of a family or friend that may be currently pregnant and due to give birth soon, then please let them know and pass on this information and my details for contact.

I'm in East Finchley but would travel around London area.

Thank you for listening and I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
