Hi ladies, I was wondering what are your little bundles of joy (or bumps) called and what was your inspiration?
Up until my 20 week scan I was absolutely sure I was having a boy and we had loads of boys names (Cory was my favourite), but it turned out to be a girl! There was only one contender in girls department and we called her Alice Hop. Her daddy and I are massive craft beer fans (not as much anymore as I'm breastfeeding haha), so from early pregnant days we've been calling her Baby Hop. It stuck so much that we decided to keep it as second name (crazy or what?). First name was also inspired by a beer, made by Brewdog, called Alice Porter. You should have seen the registrar's face! I hope one day she'll appreciate her parents creativity, or will hate us forever! X

Great inspiration, Alice Hop has a lovely sound to it! I miss beer. Lol.
We've got a first and middle name sorted, which we've kept secret. Her middle name (we've been told we're expecting a girl) is going to be my Nan's name. To cut a long story short, my Nan had a severe stroke before I got to tell her I was pregnant - when I tried to, she was unconscious. She passed away a couple of weeks later. I'm beyond devastated that she never got to know, so I think it's only right that the name is passed on.
At the moment, she's still a bump, which we are calling 'Jaguar'! Started out as a bit of a joke - my OH and I didn't think we could have children, and used to make up jokey names. When we realised we were expecting, one of our first reactions was "I guess we need to think of another name that isn't Jaguar!". We're having quite a laugh with people who believe that's what we're actually going to call her! X
That's awesome. We have a James too but didn't go as far as the Tiberius, although mentioned. OH suggested Spock at one point and I couldn't tell you if he was joking or not!
That's an awesome naming story. Imagine the fun she can have telling ppl how she got her name.
Like u I was convinced that I was carrying a boy throughout my pregnancy but opted to keep gender a surprise at 20wk scan. We had a name picked out for both, for a boy we had ethan john megatron cliff which is the name of a transformer. We thought it sounded kool and we could have a giggle when he got christened or married.
Instead we got a shock in delivery room and had a girl. Erica Clara Cliff. Erica means brave and we like nordic music n vikings so we wanted a name of that origin. Plus clara is my granny's name, she died when I was in my teens.
Lol, I would pay money to see registrar's face when you announced Megatron! You should defo try for a boy next, this idea can not be wasted.
My OH teamed up with our local craft brewery in Huddersfield and brewed a beer, which was called Baby Hop. It was a 'newborn' pacific pale ale, 3.4%, so very breast feeding friendly. It was available in a few pubs up North, in Sheffield, Newcastle and Leeds. Hope she'll love us for it one day!
My daughter is called Arielle Mae - every night before i found out i was pregnant i dreamt of the little mermaid ha ha
My lil girl will be call Isabella Anne the middle names of 2 of her great grannys who were lovely and very strong minded women both have now past away but at least this way it keeps them both in our minds.
My lg is Annabel Bridget. Annabel was my husband's grandma's name. Bridget was a nickname she got whilst a bump - Bridget the fidget! My lb is Albert William. I wanted to keep the tradition of grandparents names, but neither of us wanted a name that was really popular as a first name (hence William being his second name). Really found it hard to choose a name as I was a teacher!
We were going to call our little boy bear, and he was for a few hours despite my parents being horrified. In the end we changed it to Reuben as he didn't really look like a bear but I wish we had kept it now!
Son named Logan John after wolverine ( dad's fave ) & grandad & great grandads , dad would actually want wolverine but I would not so had his Christian name ! daughter - Faith Eden , took 2 years of trying 2 get her so needed some faith & it's girly and pretty & suits all ages & Eden , I loved as a 1st name but felt it sounded 2 similar 2 Logan ! Again pretty & as children we would visit my grandparents who lived in Ireland (my grandads Irish ) & they lived in edenderry so spent lots of happy times there , they moved back 2 England as I was going in to my teens & my grandad passed away a few months b4 I got pregnant ! I did want Duffy as a middle name ( his surname ) in his memory 4 boy or girl as I was trying & had told my family & cousin had a daughter a month earlier & stole my idea : | didn't have a stuck name for her till she came ! Logan was always that b4 even being pregnant !
If daughter was a boy she would have been Kaleb Rain or Deacon (frost out of blade ) Rain - rock star names !!!
Son would have been Akira (manga film ) Ray ( of sunshine )
My LO is named Esme Jean. Esme after a character in a Terry Pratchett book that I've always loved, Jean is my OH's, mum's and sisters middle name.
Our son is finley.. my boyfriend just announced it when I gave birth and it just clicked xx
My little one is Emilie Christelle Elizabeth We agrred on Emilie straightaway but to me it means a lot. I went to Russia on an organised holiday for teenagers when I was 16 and got on with some English girls that were there (I am from Belgium). My best friend was called Emily , she was from Bath and she remained my penpal for a lot of years until we lost touch. There is also a musical called Emilie Jolie (Pretty Emily) which my parents used to play us a lot when I was growing up and I knew all the words by heart, it was a lovely story. So this is why I always wanted a little girl called Emily! Two important reasons to me so I was glad when my partner agreed straightaway without even knowing these stories yet. We have spelt it the French way as I am a French speaker. Christelle and Elizabeth are my two best friends over here in England, they are both godmothers to Emilie and both French speakers that I have managed to find since I have moved to England 16 years ago...
Also wanted 2 surgest if u like Cory so much have it 4 a girl ! Was talking about names yesterday while having a massage and the girls name was Tyla ( generally thought a boy name ) & she said her best friend was calked Cory ( a girl ) saying both had typically boy names !!! Mine is Jarrod ( a girl ) it's a boys name & I disliked it growing up but like how unusual it is in the uk & don't know any other girl with the name !!! Think Cameron Diaz ...
Saskia Amari Taschen. We wanted something original but not 'trendy'. We both liked Saskia. We wanted an A name for the second name and weirdly both saw Amari when searching when I was at home and him in afghan! Taschen cos my hubs is a little acentric (he's odd lol) and liked it. I don't believe it's a name (maybe a surname) but the more he said it, it grew on me. I highly doubt anyone else will share her full name
My daughters name is luckie. She was born at 28 weeks and was in nicu for 4 months she had abscesses in her brain she was very poorly no one knew if she'd survive or even walk or talk. Now she's a perfect happy (and bossy) 7year old. Her 3 older brothers adore her ( and she knows it lol) . We are so very lucky to have her. Now I'm pregnant with my 5th and I've got the name buddy for a boy and laney for a girl no particular reason, I just like these names.
