Yes it's labour you'll know especially if your waters have broken. I gave birth alone and it's horrible so don't do it alone. Good luck :)

My waters haven't broken yet and I havent had 'the show'. I dont wanna sound thick but what do I need to do. I no if I ring hospital they wont have me in until contractions are closer together. (Iv watched to much one born every minute) my other half is a 2 hour drive away is it worth ringing him now? How long will it be before there closer together. Coz the minute I ring him he doesn't get paid as he is self employed. .. am I worrying too much xxx

Ring him you know yourself if your in labour it's a feeling you get. It took 3 hours for mine to get closer together. The pain gets pretty intense and you'll some support! Make yourself comfortable but expect you waters to break :) you'll be fine don't worry :) xx

Ooo exciting hun! I had to have my waters broken once I was 8cm so your waters may be a while before they go. But keep an eye out for your show and time your contractions.

Some people have been put into false labour so just make sure that they are progressing. Everyones different with labour.

I started similar to you at 2200 on the wednesday and went into hospital at 0630 on thursday. I was 5 cms and contractions were 10 mins apart. My show did not appear til the early hours of the morning.

Things can move alot slower with your first so best being where you are comfortable at home. Just give hubby a heads up and let him know whats happening and tell him you may be ringing him to come home soon so hes atleast prepped. You could ask your midwife if you have her number, rather than hospital.

If you are closer soon and have your show then its worth phoning him to head home. Possibly have someone to hand to take you to hospital. In all honesty the hospital can be rubbish at times. They claim that they know when you are in labour by the tone of your voice. This was not the case with myself and alot of my friends. Good luck :) xx

Even if it's a false alarm I'm sure ur oh will forgive u as it's better that than to have left it too long and missed the real deal.

It sounds like ur in early stages and that's fantastic! Once u can no longer talk through a contraction and u have to fully concentrate on the pain and they are 5 mins apart, that's when u need to go in. Once I was in established labour, I was only in it for 1hr n 22 mins and then baby was fully delivered. Although I think mine was abnormally quick. Good luck hun. ..I hope u get a really easy safe delivery xx
