I would really recommend hypnobirthing, it doesn't matter what kind of birth you plan on having. It worked wonders for me at reducing any anxiety about labour. It's not to late to do it now and there are loads of people offering online courses now. I went from being pretty terrified about labour to going into it really excited.

I've been debating doing hypnobirthing, as although it's a while away for me I have a real fear of hospitals!

Can you recommend an online course?

Positive birth company! I’ll be using them, they’re ace! Think their digital birth pack is £30/40 xx

Hi. I had my 2nd child 15 years after my 1st

I felt more in control as I was older and new what to expect. But with any birth you still feel a little nervous. Just make sure you have a plan of what pain meds etc you want and I'm sure you will be fine

Congratulations xx

I totally understand. I have an 18 year old . A 3 year old and a 7 week old and I'm 39

I will say labour was fine this time round. It was just after birth. Your body will take longer to recover (well it did for me)

So try and get good rest and a routine in place. Will make life so much easier x

Hello, I had first baby aged 40 6 weeks ago. I was also very scared about labour and all was ok. I think everyone is scared to some extent but you have to go thru labour! I also get anxiety anyway. I found basic breathing exercises helpful, like breathing in slowly thru nose for count of 3 and out thru mouth for count of 6. I also prepared a playlist of music I liked for labour and birth on my phone and got a small speaker. I also used tense relax exercises sometimes. Also focus on meeting lovely little baby at the end. I hope you get on well xx

I had my 2nd baby 2 yrs apart my first was a difficult birth back to back baby long painful ventouse labour cut and tore so was terrified for the next birth but was a breeze 3 hrs couple of minutes pushing no stitches felt fantastic after. 12 yrs later Labour would still scare me but at least I know it’s not always the same. You’ve got this!
