I know! Can not believe how quickly time has gone.... Hoping baby will make its debut soon, so I can drink some mulled wine! Thinking of hitting the bouncing ball whilst munching pineapple to speed things up!

in reply toSupersandy

Haha....the ball is fun stuff so definitely get at it!!

Congratulations everyone! I'm not sure what I'm having......hence it's been all white and cream colours so far (slightly worried that my fake tan and makeup may destroy baby clothes when I hug them! - I've been assured that make up will be the least if my worries once baby is here). Anyone had baby early? I just can't believe how stretched my tummy!

in reply toSupersandy

Lol yep last thing on ur mind will def b make up...think I went 3 weeks frm giving birth to going out properly and not wearing make up.i am 25 so thts a thing for me too.. did my skin the world of good tho and now my son is here finding the time to put make up on is a challenge lol x

Hi Supersandy!

My baba is 4 weeks 4 days today, she was born at 37 +5 (planned c-section due to low lying placenta). She was 7lb 10oz and I didn't have a stretch mark in sight. My make-up is still being applied daily along with the styled hair! God, I'm now 40 and been wearing make-up since I was 13 so not going to subject anyone to my bare face now regardless :p

Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy and with your bundle of joy who will soon be here! xx

Hi all, husband is taking me out for a romantic posh dinner. I can just about manage to pull together an outfit that fits but I seem to have this really bad pain down there. It's a kind of muscular pain affecting both sides....it's absolute agony to move my legs! Getting in and out of the car is so painful! To describe it: it's like I've been on a bike or horse riding for hours and now the muscles/ligaments hurt - is this normal, has anyone else had this?

Sounds like it could be SPD or pelvic girdle pain (same thing, different names). The website pelvicpartnership.com (or co.uk - can't remember!) is very good. Really, really painful, feels like someone has kicked you in the groin. Best to see your GP or midwife and check though, as at 37 weeks I guess it could be a sign of things progressing?

In general, if it is SPD, try to keep your legs together as much as possible. So sit and swing legs into the car, ditto for the bath, take stairs one step at a time. Try to keep knees together when getting into bed or rolling over in bed. I got a pregnancy support belt, which has been just fantastic (I've got a really big bump too, and I think it's just a strain on the ligaments to lug it around! 34 weeks, so a few weeks behind you).

The main advice I was given was to rest. This isn't something you can walk off or ignore. So rest as much as possible.

Hope you feel better soon. I know it's miserable when you're sore. X

Thank you so much for your advice! I've just had a look at the website and it really does appear to match my symptoms......they say it can affect you anytime in the pregnancy and if its at the late stage of pregnancy then it's probably due to baby engaging and pushing into the pelvic area. Thanks for the advice - really helpful!

Glad you found it helpful. The good news is it will almost certainly go away after birth. Other tip is to sleep with a pillow between your legs. And I was told to do my pelvic floor exercises regularly as that will help. Good luck!
