I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and I just now started having this non-stop sharp-throbbing like pain on my cervix and pelvis. What does this mean?

I went to the doctor two weeks ago and when they checked my cervix, I was atleast 1 cm dialated and worried that I might go into labor sometime between next week or the week after because my unborn son has been showing lots of signs he's ready but my obgyn says everything is ok and I'm fine but I certainly don't feel like it.

It's sounds like your son is engaging his head. Is he head down & do you feel like your bump has dropped? They grade engaging by 1/5 - 5/5 X

Yeh sounds like head is engaging and preparing for the exit. At 37 weeks ur practically fully cooked so wudnt worry if anything did happen but this is quite common.

The throbbing pain could be where his head has engaged and is pressing on a nerve? I had something similar on and off a few days before my little one was born.

Ok thanks for the responses. I ask my doctors about what I'm feeling but all they say is its normal "duh" but they don't give me the info I need to know when I ask. It's like I ask them but it doesn't fully register to them but I've always had a problem of confusing people when it comes to me telling them something lol.

Just this morning I had sharp throbbing-like pains in my #1 and #2 but they come and go but it's kinda painful. I've been told its bcuz he's pressing his head down and maybe pinching a nerve with his head and yes he's head down :)
