Anyone used a pregnancy seatbelt in car?

Has anyone used the pregnancy seatbelt you can buy for in the car that keeps the seatbelt lower so that it is not over your bump??? Have never used one before and not sure if its just another gimmicky thing or if they really do what they say they do??? Any advice would be great. Thanks xxx

I've "personally" never used one of these, I believe they're something like "extentions" to your seatbeat that's there already which makes me feel a bit un-easy about using them, but that's my own personal view.

If you are finding your "seatbelt" a bit uncomfortable when driving have you tried adjusting the seat itself slightly as I had't to do this recently now my bump has got lower ( now 35wks)

Not come across these before. I'm always very wary of making alterations to seatbelts, with extensions etc, as they're very well designed and safety checked and I feel you shouldn't mess. But no, I haven't researched the safety of pregnancy belts specifically. Good luck!

Thanks for replies....no not uncomfy in car yet only 11 weeks at mo so not a problem was just looking at them online earlier and says its safer as if you are in an accident the impact doesn't go in your tummy to baby. I am sceptical too which is why I wanted to know if anyone has experience of them. The last three pregnancies I managed without just if they are safer for baby then might give them a go this time. More research I think xxxx

Yeah :-)

I didn't want to discourage you earlier by my comment or anything but I think at times these sort of products especially for pregnant women are unessesary :-)

I have been using a bump belt. They basically hold the belt below the bump, a little fiddly but it is more comfortable.

I did a large amount of reading and research on these last night and have ordered one. The reviews on amazon were very persuasive. Hopefully I wont be in an accident but after reading some of the reviews is much safer for baby if I am wearing a bump belt. Also as I will be having a C-section eventually I read a few things about how great they are for comfort after this. Glad to hear you like yours. Do you have the clippasafe bump belt?? that is the one I have ordered. Fingers crossed I will get on with it and wont end up feeling I have wasted money. x
