I am 8 weeks pregnant with triplets. After starting fertility treatment 4 years ago, a year after my first miscarriage at 7/8 weeks, I am now pregnant with triplets from our last go at IUI. I have had another miscarriage around the same time and a biochemical pregnancy and have been diagnosed with a unicornuate uterus. We are facing the prospect of selective reduction due to my uterus not being able to stretch enough for 3 babies but after losing 2 naturally, the prospect of killing one is heartbreaking. Has anyone been through anything similar? I would love to know your experience.

Anyone had selective reduction?
Hi hun am so sorry ive not got anything helpful to say and I can only imagine what a heartbreaking decision you will have to make. I hope some of the other ladies on here have something that helps you but I couldn't not comment xx
Have u got a second opinion as whether u could carry all 3? what a heartbreaking decision for u.. I'm sorry I haven't had any experience in what ur going thru but must be so hard after everything u have gone thru... what about contacting that dr at one of the London Top hospitals he has always been in the tv about babies and fertility I would try and see if there is any hope before u make ur decision xx
So sad to have to hear you talk like this, it's not something I have heard of before but I really feel for you. How do you make such a decision Are you receiving private medical as you had IUI ? Can you seek a second opinion as suggested above? Xx
Thank you all for your support. I haven't seen the specialist yet but my fertility consultant has mentioned it and research I have done about my condition, means I know that premature birth is likely due to the uterus being smaller than normal. It was nhs IUI and they have been great throughout. I will definitely do some more research though. I have read the procedure can cause the whole pregnancy to fail which is am added worry!
I just can't imagine ever having to make a decision like that! We all here if you need anything xx
Isn't It dr nickolades and dr winston that are the top drs in this field? No Harm asking ur hospital if they would refer u or contact them urself xx
Hello Ladies, I just wanted to let you know that we went for a scan with the Fetal Medicine unit last week and sadly the smaller o the triplets had stopped growing and there was no longer a heartbeat. Although it was sad to hear that we had lost another baby, we were very relieved that mother nature made the decision for us and we did not have to choose which baby to terminate. We are now full steam ahead and really happy to be expecting twins. Would like to fast forward to 14 weeks now when risk of miscarriage is much lower. Thanks again for your support.
My heart goes out to you but as you say the decision was taken away from you so goes the saying 'every cloud' as you've not needed to choose & make that heart breaking choice.
I hope the rest of your pregnancy with the twins is trouble free and look forward to hearing stories and updates on double trouble in the future XX
So sorry to hear of your loss. This must be such a rollercoaster for you. Wishing you a smooth healthy pregnancy from this point, and a pair of happy twins at the end of it x
