Hiya,

I wonder what size should we choose 1 or 2? I think we need at least 10-15 nappies at hospital bag? In hospital do we take shower after giving birth? And the question is how many days do we need to stay at hospital after vaginal birt if everything is OK?

Hi, depends how big your baby is but size 1 should be ok for most. I took 10 nappies but we were kept in hospital for 4 days so had to restock. There is no rule for the lenght of stay - I know someone who left on the day, I was kept in four days but still not sure why that long.. Good luck!

take 8 average nappies per day for the first few weeks (including while you are in hospital). Babies grow around 1 ounce each day, so they outgrow newborn size one pretty quick if they are on the bigger side.

My LO is now 5 weeks and I am now over with my first size (I had 3 bags of 45 pampers and two bags of tesco, apart from that i spent 4 days at neo-natal unit and had nappies from them - although in post-natal they dont have nappy supply in my hospital).

I think the first size is good for only untill first month.

Yes I had a shower after the birth and I was assisted by the mid-wives in the same (I had a lot of blood loss and forcep delivery). baby generally gets a bath after first 24 hours, but in my hospital they were so busy that they asked me to do a sponge cleam-up for the baby myself and my baby got a bath only after repeated insistence on the day of discharge.

hope that helps

Both my sisters left hospital the same day they gave birth as everything was straight forward. I have packed 10 nappies, as if we have to stay in longer hubby can go home an get some more for day 2,3 etc. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Size depends on baby really! My baby has just about grown out of size one and he us 8 and a half weeks old! Length of stay depends on how birth goes, if you don't have an epidural or any complications you could be home same day, epidural usually warrants at least 1 night to check mobility is ok and you can pass urine properly after having a catheter. I was in 2 nights after having a complicated birth and epidural saw wasn't too bad! Best thing to do, if you are staying in and want to go home (and feel well enough) is walk round the ward lots! That's what I did!

Hiya, we were bought size two, which is what we used and was ok. i didn't know the difference! My LO is ow nearly nine weeks and we are in 3+ size now. We were discharged by the afternoon as all was well. Good luck and enjoy picking your bag :-) x

I hav just put a pack of size 1 nappies in the car and will take about 10 but if more r needed then they r there. Obviously depending on how the birth goes then u cud b home after 6-8 hours but as ladies above say if u hav had epidural or any other complications then cud b longer, I believe a c section is 3 days so what I hav done is pack my hospital bag for us as though we will stay for a day and hav packed another bag and left it in car so if for whatever reason its there and I don't hav to rely on my boyfriend to pick out suitable underwear as we all know that will go wrong, but thts just me I like try and b as organised as poss xx

Fisrt I will buy size 1 I think. 2-5 kg is OK for the first time as you mentioned

Normally only have a catheter with epidural, not heard of women having them if they have not had one, but as I say if you have the epidural you will need one for sure! They put it in when you have had the epidural do you dint feel it at all! One the epidural has worn off you can barely feel it either, main thing it the pipe gets in the way a little, and when it comes out it doesn't hurt either, more of a relief to be honest!! X

nowadays if you have a straight forward delievery, you usually get home 6 hours after giving birth if you+baby are well, unless complications etc:

being a first time mum I think they give you a bit more support especially if breastfeeding to, they like to know that baby is feeding well,

size 1 pampers fit 4-11 lb :)
