Hugo has his 1st lot of injections tomorrow! Dreading it! He was a star with the heel prick, barely flinched but it's the after effects that's worrying me! Heard horror stories of very grumpy, groggy, unhappy babies! Is it really that bad? :o( x

Injections... what to expect?
Hi hun
I wont lie its a Lil difficult to see & watch when your Lil one bursts into tears as you cant help that mother - instinct telling you that must of hurt him
but he'll be fine. They're could be a bit of swelling in legs a few moments after but by the next day he'll be back to his usual bouncy self.
I've Had 4 and everytime they have been ok haven't noticed much difference. .. just keep an eye on him think u can give calpol from a month if u think he needs it. .mine Never did.. hope goes ok tmw xx
Just prepare yourself Hun I felt like punching the nurses after Louis last week. He just screamed the place down. poor baby. He was a little off for a day or two but mostly slept and his routine went out the window. If you can you hold him to comfort him. Louis was placed on a bed had rotavirus orally and then two nurses injecting each leg at the same time. don't want to go again. Xx
Oh no, that sounds awful! Sorry to hear that. We had one nurse so he only had one at a time and I held him throughout, poor Louis! X
Honestly Hun the next ones I'm insisting that they do it separately and I hold him. Held in my tears because I had my other too with me and I didn't want them seeing mummy upset because they had to have there school boosters too. X
That's awful. How were your other two? Can't have been good for them to see Louis so upset either. I think you are well within your rights to ask to hold him and do the injections once at a time. Sam knew what was coming for the second as I had to hold his thigh still, but I think holding him helped.
Oh poor little louis! And you too!! Lots of cuddles required then! And a trip to the chemist for some calpol just in case! These things have to be done though don't they! Shame it's not like whooping cough jab! I'd happily take 100 injections if it meant he didn't have to have any!! :o( xx
Yes Hun I'm the same I'd have them all for them if I could. But the way they did it was scaring for both of us. Hope it goes ok today x
Hope ur little mans injections go ok today xx
Worry not....Super Spidey Hugo can handle some injections!! Good luck today hun x
Hiya, my LO had his last week, I was also dreading it be he was good as gold, he cried for about ten seconds, that was also. He also liked the rotovirus drops which seemed to calm him. Thankfully we didn't have any after effects although his sleep wasn't as good as it had been. Good luck today! X
Hi my bubs had the rota virus oral and screamed for 3hrs that afternoon with the 'mild stomach cramps' that can be a side effect xx
My LO starts on Thursday dreading it as well!
He was so good! To rotavirus liquid no problems, cried big time with jabs but she did one at a time so we could have cuddles!! Doc detected mild heart murmur though, so having to take him to see peadiatrician but gp wasn't too worried based on how well he is in general! Very grumpy and sleepy now though! Had some calpol and a nice bath! X
Ahhrrr! bless him
I was just thinking about how it all went today then i logged on & seen your reply
xx
Awwww bless him what a star xx
