I did when I was 14 weeks and will be doing it again on tues at 28+3 weeks. I am going to a salon but if u do it at home, do a test patch behind ur ear or something as ur skin can become more sensitive and then do it in a well ventilated area and maybe try and go for one that has less ammonia in which are more popular these days anyway.
I am, my hairdresser said she would only be concerned if ur bleaching
No im not bleaching. Xx
I'm booked to have mine done when 35 weeks as I think it'll be a long time coming for when I can do this again after the babies born. I asked at my last cut and she said it was fine, she'll be using same dyes she's used before
Hair dying is fine. I checked with midwife xx
Ohh thats good. Thanks for answerin bit new to all this. Xx
I DO normally bleach but haven't since started trying so at 11 + 3 you can imagine what my roots look like!! Haven't told Mum yet (don't want to until 12wk scan) and she keeps asking me when I'm going to sort my hair out
If bleaching its better to have highlights, I've read, because the chemicals are only absorbed into the hair folicule rather than skin.
Just do a small test on the back of your neck by your hair line just incase you react to the dye as your skin might be sensative, if you dont then you can dye it. I have dyed my hair all through my pregnancies.
It's fine to dye your hair. Be careful tho - you are prob best having it done at hairdresser rather than doing it yourself as your hair can react differently when you are pregnant and turn out a different colour to what you intended x
Thank u x
Also better to have semi permanent than permanent apparently. I went for it as I couldn't take the greys any more! Xx
I dyed my hair through out my pregnancy I had no problems. Because of the colour I have my hair I had to do this every 3_4 week's as I don't like roots...
Good luck if unsure do a test patch
yes. I'm on my 4th and have dyed my hair with each pregnancy all children healthy!
There's no difference between semi permanent or permanent anymore according to my hairdresser lou42. They're practically the same.
Home colourants are no worse than done at the hairdresser just remember that your skin maybe more sensitive so do a patch test and always best to dye hair when it's really dirty like 3 days unwashed (dry shampoo helps if you can't stand it that long) as the natural oils will help protect your hair and scalp. My mobile hairdresser only charges £5 for putting on your own shop bought colour and she uses these all the time. If you can afford it then go to a salon but it's so expensive!!
Yes, as long as you do an allergy test. And don't bathe in a tub full of dye There's no connect to your blood supply from the hair follicle so your good to go - nhs.uk/chq/pages/949.aspx?c...
