Hi I'm 37 +2 I haven't had any leaky breasts yet. I know your milk doesn't come in till days 2/3 after giving birth, but does not having any sort of wet nightdress mean I'm going to have a lack of milk? Ty

It’s absolutely fine. I had no signs of milk with either of mine whilst I was pregnant and I’m currently feeding one of them as I type this message :) best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy, not long now! X

Same here no leaks with either of mine and also currently breastfeeding no.2 lol bf time for health unlocked

I think birth normally triggers the hormones to start producing milk why would you be wanting to leak before?

I don't want to leak before! Lol ive just read posts about this happening and so wasn't sure if it was a normal thing that occurs a couple of weeks before or not.

I’ve only had any leaking for the first time today and my baby is 2 weeks old tomorrow so I wouldn’t worry. Definitely didn’t need the breast pads in my hospital bag!

I didn't leak at all until my baby was about 3 weeks old. In the beginning you hardly produce any milk.. it's very yellow colostrum (thick high calorie milk) and your baby literally drinks a few drops at a time in the first few days.

Please don't worry about not having enough milk for the baby. True low supply is incredibly rare and normally occurs if you have had breast reduction surgery or similar. Best way to make sure you have enough milk for you baby is to keep nursing, it is totally normal to feel like baby is feeding all the time for the first few weeks, this is their way of making sure you regulate to their needs.

Please also get your baby checked for tongue and lip ties by someone trained to do so, they are very common and easily missed as doctors, midwives and health visitors are not trained to identify them, breast feeding should never hurt so don't let any one tell you it is normal if it does. Good luck and congratulations!

Congratulations.

As everyone says don’t worry. I also didn’t have any leakages before giving birth. Same happened to me as Georgina. The law of breastmilk is demand / supply. The more the baby latches the more you produce. While I was pregnant I read all sort of things and posts. Remember one saying that just by looking at your baby you produce milk and leak.... it never happened to me..... now still BF baby is almost 9 months old.
