Was wandering if anyone can help me, i was on depo for about 5 years, came of it about two years now, my cycle has been normsl now for over a year, my husband and i have been trying for a baby but nothing yet, how long could it take roughly
Advice please: Was wandering if anyone... - Pregnancy and Par...
Advice please
i have been on depo injection before but never tried to conceive after it. im sure it works the same way as the implant though.
I had the implant first when i was 16. i had it in for 7 months but had a constant period for 6 of those months. so i had it removed. doctor didnt put me back on any contraception as after you have had implant or injection it can take yyour body a year to get back to normal and start reproducing again.
Well safe to say this isnt true!!! i got pregnant a a few weeks later. it wasnt planned and was wrong timing as i was still in education, i miscarried shortly after. finding out. thats when i went on to try depo. Was told it worked the same way as implant.
Good luck and hope you conceive soon xx
If you have been trying for over a year go to ur g.p they will start some investigations for you and check you and your partners fertility x
Thanks guys means a lot, my cycle has been bit weird lately so very confused
Defiantly seek docs advice and see what's going on. .. Half the time I think we concentrate on trying too much we over think something we shouldn't. My advice would be stop trying and start enjoying. Not advice sometimes that ladies want to hear but its the mentality of trying that I think personally puts on a blockade. Two friends of friends in conversation with me little over 4 years ago been trying to get pregnant for two years and nothing. I said the above you need to stop thinking about it... 6 months later 1 was pregnant the other friends took a little longer. Xx
Go and seek some advice from GP and they will point you in the right direction to getting checked out fertility wise (hopefully). Good luck.
Hi, I went on to the depo for 9 months after having my son and it caused all sorts of funny business when I came off! In total it took nearly a year for my cycle to become semi-regular and 17 months for us to conceive - I'm sure this doesn't seem like long to many but as my first was unplanned and conceived with no trying at all it was frustrating!
You're not alone - lots of women take a while to adjust after finishing the depo so try not to worry, there's no reason to think it won't happen. I went to my GP after 12 months of trying and he examined me to make sure there was nothing obviously wrong and to return in another 6 months to have further investigations but fortunately I didn't need to. He said its unusual for it to take so long for the injection to leave your system but not unheard of. I'd advise you to go and see your doctor, just so that they're aware that you're trying, even if they don't take any action.
Good luck, as mentioned above try not to make 'trying' to much of a chore, I got a bit caught up in the whole tracking ovulation dates thing which isn't particularly sexy! Happy baby making!
If you have been trying for a baby for 12 months or longer, you are entitled to go to your GP to initiate fertility testing. So you could go along to get piece of mind. I wasn't on the depo but it took us 13 months to conceive. Have you tried ovulation kits? The reason I ask is that some people ovulate much sooner or later in their cycle then they realise. It will also give you an indication of whether you are ovulating. Stress has a major impact on fertility- you could try going on holiday to see if that helps (it seems to work for lots of people). We went to the drs and got out bloods done (husband was lined up to give semen sample) so we could get referred to the fertility clinic and then I found out I was pregnant. Good luck and try not to get to worked up about it all. xx
