Has anyone else experienced this? I had the midwife today and she told me she was a little concerned that my blood platelets had dropped from 192 to 130 and I had to have more blood taken to check them again. she said they don't start to worry until they drop under 100 but now im paranoid! What will happen if they go below 100?

Low blood platelets at 35 weeks
It's good they have picked this up. .. They didn't with me and I bled more when I had section. . They wanted me have blood transfusions after because my blood hg level was 6.7 but I refused...I was young and frightened but although I had symptoms of low iron I managed very well and was fine. ... Don't remember much about it just being told off for not taking iron tablets.... Not just because my iron was s bit on the low side but because of the platelets. .Don't remember what they were. But you saying this.brought back some memories! If your concerned ring ur community midwives and ask for more info about it and what they will do if it does drop... hopefully it won't drop any further xx
There is no problem at all so long as your playtets are above 30 at your due date! I have no idea why midwives freak women out about platelets!!! 130 is a reasonable count. Thrombocytopenia (geek speak for low platelets) if a count less than 50. Try not to worry xxx
Babymother im glad you were fine! they did mention my iron levels were fine, I don't know why I didn't ask the midwife at the time you just try to take it all in then get home and come up with 100 questions!
DrFluffy, thank you! that makes me feel a lot better and I will sleep tonight now
You have absolutely nothing to worry about sweetheart, I am 26 weeks and have low iron and low blood pressure and I feel great! As long as you take and continue to take your Healthy Start vitamins provided by your midwife everything will be fine honey! You take care and try not to stress about these things as stress is worse for you than the level of your platelets. As the level they are at is perfectly fine and your midwife should not be putting this unnecessary pressure and worry on to you! All the best and many congratulations, loads of love and best wishes! <3 <3
