I am a 37-year-old female, first-time pregnant (7 weeks and 6 days.) I had my first vaginal scan today. There was a heartbeat but the gestational sac is of this elongated shape (see picture) and the fetus is measuring small (6 weeks 2 days)
The doctor didn't say much negative or positive. He wasn't sure why the sac was of that shape so he scheduled another scan for the next week. I don't really know what to make of it. Is it normal or is it not a viable pregnancy?
Has anyone had a similar experience and carried a healthy pregnancy to full term?

Hi dear, passed two months and I don't know the result of your scan expectations. But for me it looks optimistic as you have heartbeat and fetis age is ok. How are you, how is going,am I right is everything ok?
Oh,so sad to hear it. But do not loose your hope. My first pregnancy was at 38(and after four times more) but without a heartbeat that's why I thought it's so positive scan. Don't worry you will be pregnant again and successfully give a healthy birth.
