cyst on my left ovary is it safe for my pregnancy ?

im 5 week pregnant and today i find out that i have a cyst 4cm in my left ovary

I had and still have various cysts on both my ovaries, no problems for me so far nearly 33 weeks

Most cyst's are usually harmless but its always good to inform your G.P about this as they'll be able to offer you more scan appointments to monitor it.

I had one up until 12 weeks, when it resolved its self, I had no issues.

Mine was 5cm at 5 weeks its now 12cm at 13 weeks..... Won't harm your baby so don't worry but might grow and be uncomfortable for you. Be prepared to be bloated more so than normal.

I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday, so lets hope it's shrunk!

I had cysts on both ovaries before I found out I was pregnant and infact was going in to have them removed which I then had to cancel due to finding out I was pregnant. I worried but was told by a consultant it's nothing to worry about. Found I had a third one at my 12 week scan. Now 24 weeks and ok, not sure if they are still there but meant to be having another scan at 28 weeks so going to asking them then. All the midwife would tell me was that they are common during pregnancy - all I keep thinking was they were there before that - had 2 at least since July 2012 god knows when the third formed. Do try not to worry, it's hard but I just think we would know if something was massively wrong xx

Hi there, just want to know if your cysts was removed during your pregnancy and if it harmed your baby? Can one have a healthy pregnancy with ovaries cysts?

i have 2 cysts on my left ovary but i saw the consultant who said they are harmless. a lot of people have cysts in pregnancy due to.excess hormones and normally they disappear during.pregnancy. i had my lb on the 4-4-13 and up until a scan at 38 weeks i still had the cysts. i have have to go for a scan just to check they have gone. it only caused me problems when my little boy was on the left side but i was advised to take paracetamol and it did help. after a few days my lb moved from that area. it happened twice. speak to your midwife they will be able to help you or your gp

I had a cyst on my left ovary so had an early scan at 8 weeks then another at 12 weeks and it had moved to the right!! Not sure how that happened but the midwife doesn't seem worried. All the hospital have done is booked me additional ultrasounds (which I'm really pleased about as I can keep an eye on baby more!) Going in again at the end of the month. I've been told they're only really a problem if they cause you discomfort or they can become an issue during labour, depending on their size. Most just disappear though. Best thing to do is speak to your midwife, or the consultant after you've had your scan hope that helps.

I had a cyst on my left ovary at 7weeks that was 3cm, went for my 12 week scan and it had gone. They said it is quite normal for ladies to have cysts.
